Meet Dr. Daniel Urias, MD

Plastic surgeon

Dr. Urias started his medical career as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. He was recruited into the distinguished Navy Hospital Corps after high school and earned multiple service medals during his enlistment, including medals for his actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After the bombings of 9/11 he was assigned to be a part of a Shock Trauma Platoon deployed to Iraq, this detachment had never been used in war before. Upon returning from his deployment, Dr. Urias earned his Bachelors in Business Administration just before his honorable discharge. Shortly after he was accepted to Ross University School of Medicine. Graduating medical school with Honors propelled his surgical career and placed him into a General Surgery Residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, a Temple University School of Medicine affiliate. Dr. Urias’s exceptional performance exhibited by being voted Best Resident, earning highest score on the inservice exam, and published four times during his surgery training landed him a position at the well respected Tulane University Plastic Surgery Fellowship. His efforts did not diminish as he continued his research and was published nine more times during this period.
